Fall Break 2016

In October, we took the kids to Amelia Island, Florida to stay with Papa and Nini for a week. We had a great time enjoying the Atlantic, swimming in the pool and just relaxing! Just what this soon-to-be mama of 3 needed!

The kids LOVED playing in the sand!

The weather was perfect for swimming too.

We spent one day exploring Fort Clinch State Park and checked out all the buildings in the fort...very cool!

We found a friend while we were walking around inside the Fort.

Beach days are the best days!

Tennessee - Summer 2014

Last month, my family met in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee for our 2nd annual Flournoy Family Vacation. After spending 5 days in a beautiful house in the mountains, Don, the kids and I headed down to Georgia for the rest of the week. We had a great time catching up with everyone! I think Oliver especially loved being around his bigger cousins. He's still talking about them :-)

Charleston, SC - October 2013 - Part I

Last week, we packed up the van and headed to Georgia to visit my family. After visiting for a day or so, we left Oliver with his Pawpaw and Nini, and Don and I headed to Charleston, SC for a much-needed vacation on our own! We don't often get time away from him so this was like being in heaven!

When we arrived at our hotel, we just bummed around the resort grounds for awhile. Our hotel was absolutely beautiful and in an amazing location! Since it is mid-October, it was pretty quiet too. The hotel was located right on the harbor, next to the marina. There were two long docks you could walk out on. As soon as we arrived, we headed out onto one of them. Within a few minutes, we spotted several dolphins swimming in the harbor! They came right over by us. It was awesome! I am totally fascinated by whales and dolphins so I could have sat all day on that dock and watched them. Pretty much every time we were near the water, we would spot them. Very cool!

Our beachy hotel room
The view from our room...breathtaking!
Our hotel, The Harbor Resort
The Carnival Fantasy, docked right across the harbor from our hotel
The USS Yorktown, right next to our hotel on Patriots Point
I could have sat and stared out at this water all day.
Our first dolphin friend
They just swim lazily around the harbor, near the marina.
So much fun to watch!
Amazing creatures!

As much as we were enjoying our vacation, we kept joking about hopping aboard for the 5 day cruise to the Bahamas!

Merry Christmas 2011- The Southern Version

A few days after Christmas, we loaded up the car and headed down south to Georgia. After our last trip down there, we got smarter and booked a hotel in Asheville, NC in order to break up the trip. Oliver enjoyed riding around on the luggage cart!

Of course, when we finally got in town, there were more presents awaiting Oliver!

I think he really loves his Uncle Noah...

Since the weather was so nice, we got to spend a lot of time outside. We went to two different parks and took several walks!

Oliver did NOT love the swing.

He did really enjoy rocking on the airplane and four-wheeler, though...go figure...

Uncle Brock even took a ride with him...

What's Christmas without a little gunfight?

He loved the slide!

One night, we went to Lights of the South. It was amazing! Tons of light displays and fun things for the kiddos to do!

Oliver was loving it!

Unfortunately, Oliver decided he wasn't going to begin crawling until the day AFTER we left Nini and PawPaw's house so he basically just rolled around happily on the floor.

Getting ready to leave :(

Clearly, Brock was sad to see us go...

Oliver and Ginger became fast friends (although I think Ginger was a little jealous at all the attention Oliver was getting from his people)...

And because I'm an evil big sister, here is a LOVELY picture I snapped of Noah before we left (in his defense, we did leave early, thus waking him early from his much-needed beauty sleep)...

Thank you Dad, Penny, Noah and Brock for a great trip! We had a wonderful time and can't wait to see you all again soon!
