A Visit to the Past

I know, I know...I am SO behind on blogging. I have a list a mile long of posts I need to put up. However, I'm finally on summer break so I can catch up on these things.

A few weeks ago, Don and I decided to head down to Bloomington for the day and walk around IU's campus. It was great to go back and see all the things I used to see everyday! Oh, how I miss B-town! I absolutely adore the town!

First, we had a picnic lunch and walked around the campus for a bit...

Isn't this the cutest little chapel tucked away in the woods??? It's one of my favorite places on campus.

We let Hoosier take a dip in the creek that winds through campus (since it was blazing hot that day).

Just hanging out, watching H swim...

This dog LOVES the water!

Don tried to get him in this fountain, but he wasn't having it (luckily, since there were a lot of people around)!

Such a beautiful and peaceful place...

Hoosier, however, adored this fountain in front of the music building...

He hopped right in...

Wouldn't go anywhere near this (I think all the noise scared him)...

We headed downtown and walked the square. On our way back to campus, we passed one of my favorite restaurants in Bloomington...Cafe Django. Love, love, LOVE this place...

Since it was so hot, we stopped for ice cream at a little local place near campus. They had a Pup Cup on their menu, and I couldn't resist! I had to get it for Hoosier. He's never had ice cream before so he was a bit unsure at first...but not for long. He dove right in!

It was so cute! They even put dog bones in it.

We had people stopping to watch him eat his ice cream...

After we finished our ice cream, we headed over to Memorial Stadium. I hadn't seen it since the renovations. In the picture below, none of that used to be there. It was completely open and there were bleachers on the ground near the end zone.

Looks awesome!

We took a break in the grass for awhile and listened to the marching band practice out on the field.

He's loving the shade!

My two boys.
Don, in front of the new section of the stadium...

Hanging out with my furry baby...

What a great day! We have so many wonderful memories of the time we spent living in Bloomington. It was great to get back and hang out for a day!

Thunderstorms are Scary Business

A few nights ago, we had a pop-up thunderstorm. Of course, Hoosier is afraid of thunderstorms (along with just about everything else).

Here is where I found him, panting for dear life...

For some reason, to Hoosier, the bathtub means safety...

Happy Memorial Day/Indy 500 weekend!

Bulldogs and Easter

First off, I need to say congratulations to the Butler Bulldogs who are headed to the National Championship game right here in Indianapolis tomorrow. I spent my freshmen year at Butler, and even though I graduated a Hoosier, Butler holds a special place in my heart. Besides, let's be honest, IU hasn't stood a chance in the tournament in awhile so Butler's the next best thing...and a much better Cinderella story!

Hoosier and I got dressed up for the game...he did NOT like this one bit.

P.S. I'll be posting more Final Four pics soon. We spent Saturday in downtown where all the festivities are going on.
And, of course, a big Happy Easter to everyone! I truly hope everyone has a blessed, joyful day. We are headed up to South Bend in a couple of hours to spend some time with our families. I hope you all get to do the same.

A Walk in the Park

Today we took Hoosier to one of our favorite places to walk...the Butler University campus. OK, so it's not really a park, but it is absolutely beautiful.

There are ponds (Hoosier loves to swim in these in the summer, along with the, ahem, fountains on campus)...

and a bell tower...

and gorgeous rock waterfalls...

and very large goldfish...

and a cool wrought-iron bridge...

and lots of trees...

lots and lots of trees...

and a bell tower (I know I mentioned that already, but I absolutely love it)...

and, of course, Hinkle Fieldhouse.

You really can't find a prettier place in Indianapolis. Now I just can't wait for summer when they turn those fountains back on. It's the best place in the city for a dog to go swimming...

Hoosier Update

I haven't posted much about Hoosier lately, and he definitely has had some things going on. First and foremost, he turned 2 last Tuesday! Happy Birthday, Hoosier!

He also had a buddy come to visit for a few days. Kona is actually his half-brother and belongs to a friend of mine. They were going on vacation so Kona came to stay with us. The dogs had a ridiculous amount of fun once Hoosier got over the fact that there was another dog at our house...he wasn't so sure about it at first. They followed me EVERYWHERE (actually Kona followed me and Hoosier followed Kona to make sure he didn't do anything to me), ran circles around the backyard, wrestled in the snow and slept together in our bed at night. They were too cute together. We're planning a reunion at Kona's house in March, when Don and I go to Vegas.
Here they are all tuckered out after a long day of running and playing (Hoosier is in the front, Kona is in the back). I love how they're all curled up on each other...

I just love this picture. I have no idea what they are looking at, but there was definitely something out there (Kona left, Hoosier right)...

After all the playing and wrestling Hoosier did with Kona, he was in dire need of a haircut. So today, he spent a couple of hours with his favorite groomer, Meagan. He must have had a lot of mats because she had to take off A LOT of fur. Doesn't he look so much more handsome though (as compared to the furry mess you see in previous pictures)?

A close-up of his floppy ears and fro...

Hoosier also had to take a little trip to the vet this week. We woke up on Thursday morning and Hoosier couldn't see a darn thing because his eyes were swollen shut! Poor guy had an allergic reaction to something...nothing a little antihistamine can't fix though. As you can see, he's entirely back to normal! Have a terrific weekend!

Bad Momma

Here is what Hoosier was doing...

Here is what I was doing...
Didn't even notice him tearing up tissue 5 feet away from me that he took out of the bathroom trashcan...wow!
