Chicago...With No Kids!

We decided to do something for our 8th anniversary that we've never done before (well, at least not in the past 3 years)...go on a trip by ourselves! We dropped Oliver off with his grandparents and headed to Chicago for the weekend. We had a terrific time!

We spent Saturday walking miles, and I mean MILES, around the city. We hit Grant Park, shopped along Michigan Avenue and basically just hung out in a city that I absolutely adore. We had amazing deep dish pizza for lunch, took a nap in our beautiful hotel, searched said hotel for our lost luggage (we found it!) and hit the town in the evening for a delicious anniversary dinner at Ruth's Chris. Saturday night, we headed down to Navy Pier and took a fireworks cruise. Other than it being rather chilly for June, it was awesome! You really can't beat an amazing fireworks show set against the Chicago skyline.

On Sunday, we had a great breakfast at a restaurant near our hotel, walked around a little more and headed back to pick up the monkey. This was such a relaxing and much-needed trip! What a great way to celebrate 8 years of marriage!

Mother's Day 2013

On Mother's Day, we headed downtown for an Indians game again this year. We had a great time walking around, and Oliver was a bit more interested in the game this year...but not much! He really enjoyed running down the hill in the lawn area...ha! Too bad it was W I N D Y that day which made it very cold. All in all, we had a very nice day together as a family though.
