Christmas Morning 2012

Late on Christmas Eve, we headed back home so that Oliver could wake up in his own bed on Christmas morning. Unfortunately, he woke up when we got home and stayed awake crying until after 3 am. Needless to say, our Christmas morning turned into more of a Christmas afternoon. We all slept in late and stayed in our pajamas all day. I made a delicious Baked French Toast for brunch and meatloaf and mashed potatoes for dinner. We just took it easy all day, playing with new toys. I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas with my two guys!
Oliver's big gift...a train table!
He loves all the trains and tracks that PawPaw and Nini sent him!
Aunt Amy and Uncle Brett sent him this pillow racer. We, I mean Oliver, has had a lot of fun riding it :)
Christmas is so much fun, now that he understands it a little better.
We didn't forget Hoosier! He had a stocking full of bones.
Oliver is so lucky to have so many wonderful people that care for him. He was definitely spoiled this Christmas!
Reading his new book from Grammy
We also had a fabulous time playing with the tunnel we got him.

Christmas 2012- South Bend

Because of when Christmas fell this year, we were able to head up to South Bend and spend a long weekend celebrating with family. We saw a lot of people, ate a lot of delicious food and opened a lot of wonderful gifts. We had a great time and were so glad to get to spend more than just a day with our family. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

This is what it's like trying to get a decent picture of Oliver...I think CJ was getting fed up with him!
So glad we got to go visit the newest member of my best buddy's family...Mayzie! Love these girls!
Oliver spent a lot of time on this rocking horse! He loved it!

Growth Chart

Don made this cool ruler growth chart for our mudroom area. We just put Oliver's first measurement up on it...2 feet, 9 inches!

Holiday Festivities

We had a very busy December this year. Now that Oliver is old enough to enjoy the holidays a little more, we spent our weekends doing fun Christmasy activities around town. One weekend, we went downtown to see the Circle of Lights. It also happened to be the weekend of the Big Ten Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium and the weather was warm so there was lots to see and do. Another weekend we went to Holiday in the District in Carmel to see Santa. It's so much fun seeing Oliver enjoy these activities so much, and I love spending this time with my two guys!
I love downtown, especially during the holidays!

I think he liked the lights...and the chocolate from the South Bend Chocolate Cafe!

We waited in line to see Santa, outside in the cold, for over an hour. This is what happened.
The official first photo with Santa. Luckily, as soon as he got off Santa's lap, he was high fiving him!

Thanksgiving 2012

Once again, we spent our Thanksgiving at Pokagon State Park. This year was a little different, though. First, my family came up from Georgia and joined us. Second, the day we left Oliver came down with a nasty cold and really didn't feel great our entire trip. Traveling and being out of town with a sick, cranky toddler is not my idea of an ideal long weekend away. Regardless, we had a pretty good time. We were so fortunate to spend our Thanksgiving surrounded by so many family members.

Oliver loved sitting at this arcade game in the Game Room and "playing."

Sad he couldn't be outside because of his cold :(
Hope everyone had a lovely, blessed Thanksgiving!

Halloween 2012

This Halloween was special for us because it was Oliver's first time dressing up and going trick-or-treating. His Aunt Amy lent us the adorable costume that she made for my nephew several years ago. We got so many compliments on it! It was pretty cold out so we only went to a few houses, but Oliver had the best time! He was skeptical of going up to people's doors at first, but after he figured out that they gave him candy, he was good! It was funny...at almost every house, he chose M&Ms. He's never even had them before so I'm not sure why he chose them, but we ended up with lots of M&Ms at the end of the night. We had such a great time!
