A Super Week

The past few weeks have been very exciting here in Indianapolis, as our city hosted Super Bowl XLVI. Don spent many a lunch hour checking out all the activities going on downtown, and we had the chance to spend a "date day" together in Super Bowl Village. We had a great time, and it was so neat to see everything our city did to prepare for such a world-class sporting event. I'm so proud to call Indy home!

The new JW Marriott (where Madonna was staying)...

IRL cars, decked out for each of the NFL teams...here are the Giants and Patriots cars...

Monument Circle got a facelift...

ESPN Studio at Pan-Am Plaza (unfortunately, no one interesting was broadcasting when we were there)...

The zipline...man, I wish it hadn't been a 4 hour wait...

A few days after the Super Bowl, Don took a tour of Lucas Oil Stadium on his lunch hour. He got some phenomenal pictures. Here is the "staging" area for the halftime show...

Inside the stadium...

He got to go into the locker rooms as well. This is the Colts' locker room...

Peyton's locker, in a corner by itself...

This is the locker room the Pats used during the Super Bowl. Don found all kinds of neat items left on the floor of the locker rooms. The best one was a letter written by a young kid to one of the Giants players. He brought it home to show me.

Visiting team's locker room...

Back in the stadium...

On the field...

It was such a neat week to spend in Indianapolis! We can't wait for another Super Bowl to take place here!
