Flowers, Flowers Everywhere!

During the last week of school, my partner teacher, Jessica, and I took all our 3rd graders on a walking field trip to nearby Garfield Park. We toured the Conservatory and Sunken Gardens, had a picnic and played on the playground. It was the perfect way to round out our school year.

I had never been to the Conservatory before, but I am a sucker for flowers, plants and nature of all kinds so I was very excited! I couldn't believe all the different things they had there and admission was only $1!

Below are several pictures I took of various flowers and plants we saw. They even had gorgeous ponds with lily pads and koi fish, Meyer lemon trees, and chocolate and coffee trees. Everything was so beautiful!

A Weekend Visit

A few weeks ago, my mom came down to visit. We headed down to Bloomington to spend the day at Oliver Winery, one of my favorite places in B-town. It is an absolutely gorgeous winery with a ton to see and do.

Here are a few pictures of the grounds...

I could spend an entire week looking at all the beautiful flowers and animals they have, not to mention sampling some very tasty wine!
Once we got home, we had a nice, quiet cookout. The next day, my best friend, Izzy, and her crew came to town to visit. We had a nice time catching up and eating lunch together (unfortunately, I forgot my camera AND my phone so I have no pictures).
What a great family- and friend-filled weekend!
