Our 3rd day in Paris was jam-packed! We began our morning taking in the art at the Musee d'Orsay. The museum is a beautiful building right along the River Seine that used to be a train station.
In the afternoon, we headed to the Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle cathedrals. The history behind these two landmarks is mind-boggling. This was, hands down, my favorite day in Paris.
In the evening, we took the subway to a new neighborhood to have dinner at Le relais de l'entrecote. This restaurant was really unique. They have two seatings each night, and you have to get in line hours ahead of time to get a seat. We stood in line for probably an hour or so. When you get seated, there is no menu because they serve only one item...steak and frites. You simply tell the waitress how you want your steak cooked (and DO NOT say well done) and wait. The food was amazing, and we sat next to some other American travelers that we chatted with. Overall, it was another great day in the City of Lights!

As we headed toward Sainte Chapelle, we came across some street performers. This guy was a hoot! |

Sainte Chapelle is a royal Medieval Gothic chapel built by King Louis IX to house his collection of relics, including Christ's Crown of Thorns (which is actually now housed at the Notre Dame). |
|
The stained glass windows tell the story of certain Books in the Old Testament. It was amazing to walk around and see the Biblical depictions. |
