Cataract Falls

A few weekends ago, we packed up the car and headed to Cagles Mill and Cataract Falls, two State Recreation Areas not too far from us. There wasn't a whole lot to see at Cagles Mill, but we did have a nice picnic lunch and took a short hike. Along the way, we passed through a covered bridge.

Don even did some swinging on a vine...

Hoosier found a small (and I do mean small) creek and jumped right in. I love this picture...he plopped right down and layed in the water. I think he was hot from all the hiking we'd done.

We soon headed over to Cataract Falls which was a MUCH more scenic place to spend some time. They had a real covered bridge that dated back to the 1800s.

This is part of the Upper Falls which had about a 20 foot drop. I got in with Hoosier and we walked around a bit, but it was SO slippery that it was really hard to move around.

We walked through the covered bridge to the other side of the Falls.

Here is a view from the other side...

Again, Hoosier got to swim so he was a happy camper!

What a fun day! Cataract Falls was such a pretty place and there was so much to do! I love exploring the state parks.
